This means that if you take a herpes blood test, you may still have a positive result. Remember, blood tests measure antigen levels not virus levels. These antigens are what help your body fight herpes virus infections. Your immune system continues to produce these antigens even if the virus is no longer present in your body.

In other words, it's impossible to know for sure if you are cured. I believe the only herpes cure that we can hope for today is a solution that can prevent all herpes symptoms from occurring.
